Horticulture Manager

Role & responsibilities

1.Strategic Planning and Management

• Develop and implement horticultural plans for nurseries, landscapes, or gardens.
• Coordinate with clients, landscapers, and designers to meet project goals.
• Manage budgets for plant procurement, maintenance, labor, and equipment.

2.Landscape and Design Oversight

• Collaborate with landscape architects to design aesthetically pleasing and sustainable landscapes in residential and commercial projects, including gardens, parks, and other outdoor spaces.
• Supervise the execution of landscaping projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.

3. Supervision and Leadership

• Supervising and leading a team of horticulturists, gardeners, and laborers to ensure efficient and effective management of horticultural projects.

4.Plant Selection and Cultivation

• Selecting appropriate plant species for specific environments and overseeing their cultivation, propagation, and maintenance.

5.Pest and Disease Management

• Monitoring and implementing integrated pest management strategies to control and prevent infestations and diseases in plant populations.

6.Soil and Water Management: Managing soil fertility, irrigation systems, and drainage to optimize plant growth and health.

7.Environmental Sustainability

• Promoting and implementing sustainable horticultural practices that minimize environmental impact and promote conservation efforts.

8.Client and Stakeholder Management

• Interacting with clients, stakeholders, and the public to understand their needs, provide horticultural advice, and ensure customer satisfaction

Preferred candidate profile

Diploma or Bachelor's or Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field.

BSc horticulture graduated candidates with 3-5 years experience in landscape execution are preferred .
