Observability Lead

Job Summary

The Observability Lead will be responsible for implementing and managing observability solutions, specifically utilizing Dynatrace, while leading a team focused on tenant consolidation, logs migration, existing tools rationalization, governance, observability expansion, and observability FinOps. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to enhance system observability and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, manage, and motivate team members to optimize productivity and collaboration. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Implementation of Observability Solutions: Lead the design and implementation of observability frameworks using Dynatrace, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements.
• Tenant Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of tenant environments to streamline operations and enhance visibility across systems.
• Logs Migration: Manage the migration of logs from existing systems to new observability platforms, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
• Tools Rationalization: Evaluate existing monitoring tools and practices to identify redundancies and opportunities for consolidation.
• Governance: Establish governance frameworks for observability practices to ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
• Observability Expansion: Drive initiatives to expand observability capabilities across the organization, enhancing monitoring and logging practices.
• Observability FinOps: Implement financial operations related to observability tools and practices, ensuring cost-effectiveness in monitoring solutions.

Role-Specific Requirements

• Technical Expertise:
• Proven experience with Dynatrace and other APM tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic).
• Strong knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (preferably Azure).
• Leadership Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels.
• Problem-Solving Abilities:
• Creative mindset with a collaborative approach to resolving challenges efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in observability or related fields.
• Experience in leading teams in an enterprise-level infrastructure environment is preferred.
