Team Member - Finance

Job Description

Reporting to the Corporate Finance Controller (Functional) and the R&D Controller, the role holder will be a key member of the Finance & Accounting (F&A) team, responsible for overseeing the financial processes of the organization. This includes implementing financial policies, creating budgets, tracking financial transactions, and providing finance reports to the managerial team. This role is specifically for PI Industries R&D Business and its extended businesses with R&D integration. Additionally, the role will support shared services and the corporate taxation team in accounting operations and compliance related to the R&D center.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

Accounting Operations Support

• Ensure timely submission of all required inputs for transaction processing to the Shared Services team.
• Provide timely inputs for monthly financial closing, including provisioning, pre-paid working, and booking.
• Collaborate proactively with supply chain, store, and internal department SPOCs to collect accounting inputs and process them through the shared services center/corporate treasury team.
• Review open purchase orders and GR/IR accounts to ensure there are no long outstanding entries or open commitments.
• Maintain a list of all deposits and advances, ensuring timely closure.
• Coordinate with the Payments Processing Team at Shared Services to ensure timely payments to vendors and suppliers.

Taxation

• Support the corporate tax team in annual/special audits and assessments by external tax authorities.
• Ensure compliance and assist the corporate tax team in liaising with local tax and regulatory bodies.
• Support the tax team in processing tax incentives related to R&D expenses.
• Immediately flag any tax non-compliances to the corporate tax team.

Vendor Management

• Interact with local and foreign vendors to support shared services and taxation for smooth payment and tax compliance.
• Act as a point of contact for any escalation of vendor payment-related issues.

Budgeting / MIS

• Prepare and maintain long-term budgetary planning, forecasting, and cost management in alignment with the company's strategic plan.
• Work closely with Corporate Finance and R&D Leadership to strengthen internal financial and operating controls at the R&D Centre.
• Develop financial reporting mechanisms for Management MIS.
• Provide reports analyzing expenses versus budgets and drive adherence to budgets.
• Lead the continual refinement of smarter information systems in financial reporting, provision of centralized information, increased financial and operational KPI information, trend analysis, and benchmarking of company performance against agreed measures.

Asset Management

• Support the Asset Management team in implementing asset management policies and procedures at the R&D center.
• Assist the asset team in conducting asset audits at the unit.
• Report asset write-offs, disposals, and any movement of assets to the asset management team.

Qualification & Experience:

MBA - Finance with 3-7 years of experience preferably in pharma and agro chemical companies
