Data Analyst

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team in the freight forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing large sets of transportation, logistics, and shipment data to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

• Data Collection & Management: Gather, clean, and structure data from internal and external sources, including shipment logs, customer records, inventory data, and third-party logistics systems.
• Data Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of freight-related data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in operations, cost management, and customer service.
• Reporting & Visualization: Develop and deliver regular reports, dashboards, and presentations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to shipment performance, transit times, costs, and customer satisfaction, and identify areas for process optimization.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, customer service, finance, etc.) to propose and implement data-driven strategies to improve freight forwarding processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
• Forecasting & Predictive Analytics: Apply statistical models and machine learning techniques to forecast demand, optimize routes, and predict potential disruptions or delays in the supply chain.
• Database Management: Maintain and update databases, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and security.
• Compliance & Reporting Standards: Ensure that data handling and reporting meet all industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, APICS) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong experience with data analysis tools like SQL, Excel (advanced), and programming languages (Python, R, etc.).
• Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar for creating dashboards and visualizations.
• Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, draw actionable insights, and make data-driven decisions.
• Supply Chain Knowledge: Familiarity with key freight forwarding processes such as transportation management, inventory control, route optimization, and customs compliance.
• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail when working with large datasets.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of issues and recommend data-driven solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, or artificial intelligence in a logistics context.
• Knowledge of freight forwarding software platforms (e.g., TMS, WMS) and systems like SAP or Oracle.
• Experience working with transportation and logistics data (e.g., delivery times, routing, carrier performance, etc.).
