Imports Executive

Position Overview:

PET Like That Solutions LLP is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Imports Executive to oversee and manage our international trade operations. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless import processes, compliance with Indian and international trade regulations, and efficient supply chain management. This role requires close collaboration with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams to support our mission of bringing high-quality pet products to the Indian market.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Import and Export Operations:

• Manage end-to-end import/export processes, including documentation, customs clearance, and logistics.
• Ensure full compliance with Indian and international trade regulations, tariffs, and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with customs brokers and freight forwarders to facilitate smooth shipment clearance.

2. Compliance and Customs Management:

• Stay updated on trade regulations, including customs procedures, trade agreements, and tariffs.
• Oversee accurate filing of import/export declarations, tariff classifications, and payment of duties/taxes.

3. Inventory and Supply Chain Optimization:

• Monitor inventory levels to meet business demands while minimizing carrying costs.
• Partner with internal teams to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce lead times.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and review import/export documentation, such as invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Maintain meticulous records of all trade activities, including shipments, costs, and compliance data.

5. Vendor and Logistics Management:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and negotiate favourable terms and contracts.
• Coordinate transportation logistics, select cost-effective shipping methods, and track delivery schedules.

6. Cost Optimization and Budgeting:

• Analyse import/export costs to identify opportunities for savings.
• Develop and manage budgets for international trade operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field (Diploma in Imports/Exports is a plus).
• Minimum of 3+ years experience in logistics, import/export operations, customs, or freight forwarding.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian trade regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to cultivate long-term vendor relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and reporting skills.
• Familiarity with customs clearance processes and international trade practices is a significant advantage.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
