Position: IVF Consultant (Full time)

Applicants Criteria:

Qualification: MBBS, MD or Diploma in Obstetrics and gynecology

Yrs of Experience: 3 - 5 Yrs (Relevant)

Location: Kenya, Mombasa

Languages known: English

Computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)

Role & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of an IVF consultant:

• Patient evaluation and diagnosis: Conduct thorough medical history reviews, physical examinations, and fertility testing to identify the cause of infertility.
• Treatment planning: Develop personalized IVF treatment plans based on patient needs, including medication regimens, monitoring schedules, and procedure options.
• Counseling and education: Provide detailed explanations of the IVF process, potential risks and benefits, and address any patient concerns or questions.
• Ovulation induction and monitoring: Manage ovulation stimulation with medications, closely monitor follicle development through ultrasound and blood tests.
• Egg retrieval procedure: Perfortransvaginal ultrasound-guided egg retrieval under anesthesia.
• Sperm preparation: Process and prepare sperm samples for fertilization.
• Embryo transfer: Transfer the selected embryo(s) into the uterus using a catheter.
• Embryo cryopreservation: Freeze and store embryos for future use.
• Genetic testing: Discuss and interpret genetic testing options for embryos (PGS/PGD).
• Post-transfer care: Monitor patients for potential complications after embryo transfer and provide pregnancy support.
• Collaboration with other specialists: Work closely with embryologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals within the fertility clinic.
