ROLE SUMMARY:
You will lead the legal and compliance initiatives to propel our mission of achieving manufacturing excellence and innovation in the Indian market.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As the head of the Legal and Compliance department, you will play a critical role in guiding the Corporate Legal, Intellectual Property (IP), Secretarial, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) functions within the organization.
- Act as the primary authority and subject matter expert for all legal matters, providing insightful counsel to the senior leadership team.
- Manage the organization's transition to public entity status, ensuring compliance with all legal standards.
- Develop and enhance team capabilities to meet Capacity, Capability, and Culture requirements, representing the department across various operational programs.
- Cultivate a culture of compliance with regulatory standards and ethical practices aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive frameworks to ensure adherence to applicable manufacturing regulations, internal policies, and industry standards while considering stakeholder interests.
- Draft and review a wide range of contracts, including Supply Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Licensing Agreements, and other essential commercial agreements in the manufacturing context.
- Identify potential compliance risks within manufacturing operations and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Provide legal guidance on applicable laws related to product launches, safety regulations, and compliance for manufacturing processes and marketing campaigns.
- Advise on issues concerning data privacy, IT compliance, and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing and supply chain activities.
- Manage all legal aspects regarding manufacturing ecosystem products, including machinery, components, and associated services.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 20+ years of experience in Legal, Secretarial, Compliance, and Controls, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Certified Company Secretary (CS) is a must.
- Experience in a public company environment is essential.
- Capable of providing functional support to internal departments, including Litigation Management, Trademark Protection, Lease and Contract Management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing internal governance policies while managing the impact of external regulatory factors.
- Expertise in structuring, drafting, and vetting various contractual agreements specific to the manufacturing industry.
- Hands-on experience in managing legal documentation associated with mergers and acquisitions within the manufacturing context.
