Location : Bangalore

• The IT Ops Engineer HPC Operations is a technical expert providing end to end solutions that maximizes availability and reliability of High Performance Compute services of our user base
• Modernize operations by applying fit for purpose digital solutions, realizing the IT Operations Of The Future Ambition
• Responsible fordeliveringr operational requirements per Operate/Secure By Design, ensuring secure, reliable and affordable operations
• Work as an on-site datacenter operator in a process-aligned follow-the-sun 1st and 2nd level support organization providing availability and performance monitoring, event/incident management and resolution, and run & maintain support.
• Collaborate with colleagues in global HPC Operations, Engineering, Renewal, and Optimization teams to deliver a constantly evolving and technologically innovative high performance computing environment to our Shell stakeholders.
• Engage with IT suppliers to resolve issues and to test and evaluate new solutions.
• Occasional after-hours and weekend work on an as-needed basis.

Skills Required

• Linux system administration (preferably Red Hat), especially in relation to compute cluster management

• Software scripting and programming in a Linux environment (e.g. Python, Perl, Shell scripting)

• High speed storage system administration (e.g. parallel file systems and NFS experience)

• Management of enterprise tape libraries, tape drives and HSM storage solutions

• At least 3 years relevant experience in IT infrastructure administration, preferably high performance computing

• Strong team player and communicator, able to work well in a distributed work environment

• Ability to work both in a team and independently

• Self motivated with a learner mindset
