Job Description
As an Engineering Manager, you will influence the customer experience for PayPal customers in 200+ countries. We are looking for someone who is motivated, versatile, and hands-on as you are responsible for leading and developing a team of skilled engineers, helping with design, implementation and delivering state of the art web experiences.
Your day to day:
- Managing a world class backend infrastructure powered by REST Services, GraphQL endpoints and Database connectivity
- Facilitating and driving key technology decisions with senior technology stakeholders.
- Attracting, retaining, and building top notch backend engineering talent.
- Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products you are responsible for, sell your ideas and be part of the change.
- Looking for continuous improvement in productivity and quality.
What do you need to bring:
- 5+ years of experience in managing and growing engineering teams that are responsible for large scale & high-volume websites.
- Experience building and managing highly effective engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, making compensation decisions, and recruiting talent.
- BS/MS in Computer Science with 8+ years of working experience.
- Solid knowledge of Java, REST Services, GraphQL
- Ability to partner with business units, product management, program management and cross-functional teams to deliver business results with agility and high quality.
