Data Engineer

What you need to know about the role-
We are FPDP (Financial Products and Data Platform) team, we mainly work on Credit Domain. In this role you will get the opportunity to understand the business domain with a challenging technical work and of course lot of opportunities to explore and bring new ideas/thoughts to table.

Meet our team
As the Buy Now Paylater Products are getting launched in multiple regions and parallelly we are moving to the new source system, the candidate will be responsible for migrating / developing / testing and deploying the new features with additional enhancements suitable to the region. This source system change will bring a direct cost benefit to PayPal and the launch to product on new regions will be much faster.

• Bachelor s/master s in engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in the IT industry, experience in Data space is preferred.
• Experience in Data modelling.
• Working experience in GCP Big Query is a must.
• Working experience in AWS is a plus.
• Expertise in databases (SQL/NOSQL) and strong SQL querying skills are required.
• Advanced scripting experience - Python, Shell, etc.,
• Knowledge in reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Knowledge of any Scheduling Tools is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with data movement techniques and best practices to handle large volumes of data.
• Experience with data warehousing architecture and data modelling best practices.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to take initiative to contribute beyond core-responsibilities.
