Internal Auditor

Role & responsibilities

Risk Management & Assessment:

• Identify and assess risks: Analyze potential threats to the organization, such as financial, operational, compliance, and reputational risks.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies: Assist in the development and implementation of effective risk mitigation plans.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management controls.

Internal Control Review:

• Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls: Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls across all areas of the organization, including financial, operational, and IT controls.
• Identify control weaknesses: Pinpoint gaps in internal controls that could expose the organization to fraud, errors, or non-compliance.
• Recommend improvements to internal controls: Suggest and implement measures to strengthen internal controls and mitigate identified risks.

Operational Audits:

• Review and analyze operational processes: Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of key business processes across different departments.
• Identify areas for improvement: Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance.
• Conduct special investigations: Investigate suspected fraud, irregularities, or other areas of concern.

Reporting & Communication:

• Prepare comprehensive audit reports: Document audit findings, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
• Communicate audit findings to management: Present audit reports to management and the audit committee.
• Follow up on audit recommendations: Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and ensure that recommendations are addressed.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay updated on industry best practices, auditing standards, and emerging risks.
• Continuously improve audit methodologies and techniques.
• Promote a culture of ethical behavior and integrity within the organization.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., audit software, data analysis tools)
• Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
• Understanding of risk management frameworks
• Strong ethical and professional judgment
