Senior Scientific Officer- Karnal

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper functioning of the section by maintaining proper coordination between all the processes including specimen collection, accessioning of the specimen, conducting the tests and reporting on time.
• Preparation of manpower roaster in accordance with the requirements of the section/lab in consultation with Lab Head to ensure smooth running of the Lab.
• On-the-job training to scientific staff.
• Performing routine/ specialized tests & identifying the problem specimens.
• Making decisions in assessing calibration, control and acceptability of analytical runs.
• Daily Review of the QC results.
• Follow up for the PSNs to close the same.
• Ensure proper maintenance of material consumption, inventory management and no wastage.
• To ensure that Quality, Accuracy, Safety and TAT are maintained as per norms.
• Solving the technical problems of technical staff, addressing queries from CCG, Clinicians in regard to the tests.
• Supervising the functioning and maintenance of Instruments.
• Validation of new tests introduced.
• Coordination with Engineering, Materials & IT department for the requirements of the Section/Lab.
• Raising of all Purchase Requisition, Material Requisition in the Section/Lab.
• Preparation of Monthly Consumption & work in progress reports.
• Maintaining & updating Cost /Test, WIP, Statistics.
• Critical call-outs to attending physician or staff.
• Monthly analysis of QC data, plan corrective & preventive actions for outliers.
• Submission of invoices (duly stamped and acknowledged) to Cluster Accountants post receipt of material / capex items at respective lab /HLM.
• Handling petty cash expenses and record maintenance and onward submission to Cluster Accountant.
