Job Description

Summary:

The Manager - Legal and Compliance will oversee the companys legal and regulatory compliance efforts, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, ensuring adherence to legal and corporate compliance standards, and providing legal support across multiple functions. This role requires a solution-oriented professional with strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills who can operate effectively in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to Marketing Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, Event Contracts, Services Agreements, Lease Agreements, Data Protection Agreements, and Vendor Agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the legal team, to coordinate and finalize agreements.
  • Independently manage the review, vetting, negotiation, and execution of agreements while ensuring updates are tracked in the Contract Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations and other applicable legal standards.
  • Provide guidance on Corporate Secretarial and M&A matters as required.
  • Lead and manage the legal team, providing direction, training, and mentoring while ensuring smooth coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks through strategic assessment and effective management plans.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders by building trust and fostering open communication.
  • Analyze and finalize commercial contracts with a strong focus on accuracy and clarity.
  • Stay updated on compliance obligations and industry regulations to proactively address changes.

Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM), with credentials from International Law Schools preferred.
- Company Secretary (CS) qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of legal compliance, including UK regulations.
  • Familiarity with Corporate Secretarial and M&A matters is an advantage.
  • Experience with E-Signature Solutions, Contract Management Systems, or Vendor Management Systems is a plus.
