Interim Head of Engineering Delivery

We are looking for an Interim Head of Engineering Delivery to join us on a 6-month contract as we continue to drive transformative digital engineering initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a fast-moving, innovative organization and make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Strategy:

• As one of the senior leaders in the organisation- you will influence the development and lead the implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry trends for engineering.
• Identify and action the required development of engineering practice, ensuring that the business stays ahead of market changes.

Engineering excellence:

• Own the solution architecture with a key focus on quality control and code optimisation, the adoption of best-in-class technologies and efficient CI/CD practice for HBK.
• Influencing best practice through the planning, design, test, implementation and maintenance lifecycle of our solutions.
• Optimising and reviewing the performance of teams with an aim to increase the quality of digital engineering in HBK.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test, iterate, and scale innovative engineering practice.
• Ensure all of our solutions are secure by design and enable our data capabilities for the future, working closely with the office of our CISO and Head of Data Engineering.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with software and embedded software engineering teams across the business, product development, R&D, marketing, technology, and other relevant departments to influence digital engineering best practice.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and cross-functional communication to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.

Digital Transformation Leadership:

• Lead your team and partners- championing a culture of innovation and adaptability.
• Work with leadership to articulate the vision for digital strategy in relation to engineering best practice and gain organizational buy-in.

Performance Measurement:

• Establish the OKR framework to measure the success and impact of your team s work in the business.
• Regularly assess and report on the performance of digital engineering making data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in computer sciences, maths, physics, business, or a related field.
• Significant experience building and leading high-performing software engineering teams within a scaling organisation
• Strong software architecture skills
• Hands on experience with the best in open-source and cloud native solutions, so you are able to model best practice
• In-depth understanding of digital technologies, emerging trends, and their application to business.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to correctly diagnose problems and build innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills- able to partner our software, product, R&D teams across the business.
