ETL Test Engineer (7-10 yrs)

Job Title : ETL Test Engineer

Location : Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and execute ETL test cases and test scripts to validate data transformation, data loading, data quality, and data integrity.

- Perform data validation using SQL queries and other data comparison tools to ensure data accuracy and consistency across different systems.

- Create and manage test data for ETL testing, ensuring data quality and availability.

- Utilize ETL testing tools (e.g , Informatica PowerCenter, Datastage, SSIS, Talend) to automate test execution and reporting.

- Specify which tools are essential for the role.

- Test data warehouse components, including star schema, snowflake schema, dimensions, facts, and aggregates.

- Conduct performance testing of ETL processes to identify bottlenecks and ensure optimal performance.

- Perform regression testing to ensure that new changes do not introduce defects into existing ETL processes.

- Log and track defects using bug tracking systems (e.g , Jira, HP ALM).

- Work closely with developers to resolve issues.

- Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality deliverables.

- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.

- May be involved in other testing activities, such as functional testing, UI testing, or API testing, as needed.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 7-10 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on ETL testing.

- Extensive hands-on experience with at least one major ETL tool (Informatica PowerCenter, Datastage, SSIS, Talend).

- Specify the required tool(s).

- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries for data validation.

- Deep understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and dimensional modeling.

- Experience with data validation and data quality testing techniques.

- Experience in performance testing of ETL processes.

- Familiarity with bug tracking systems (Jira, HP ALM).

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
