Software Development Engineer - Test - API Testing (5-10 yrs)

Experience Range : 5 to 10 Years

Location : Bangalore/Chennai/Hyderabad/Pune (Hybrid - 3 in a Week Work From Office)

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for APIs using Rest Assured, Karate, or similar tools.

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Selenium WebDriver / BDD / JavaScript.

- Senior profiles (6+ years) should have framework development experience.

- Implement and execute automated tests within Agile sprints (BDD/Cucumber, SpecFlow).

- Perform database validations and write SQL queries for data verification.

- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, TestNG, and Serenity.

- Experience with continuous test automation using Jenkins/ADO.

- Participate in all phases of the test automation lifecycle, including feasibility studies, estimation, proof-of-concept development, test execution, and reporting.

- Effectively debug and troubleshoot issues in test scripts and applications.

- Proactively identify and resolve problems.

- Ability to own and drive delivery of testing tasks independently.

- Demonstrate strong programming logic and problem-solving capabilities.

- Perform manual testing of web applications as needed.

Communicate effectively with developers, testers, and other stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills & Experience :

- 5-10 years of experience in software test automation using Java/J2EE (including strong OOPs concepts, design patterns, recursive & non-recursive programming, method overloading, method overriding, ArrayList, Vector, Serialization, HashSet) or C#.

- 4+ years of mandatory experience in test automation.

- Deep hands-on coding skills with Selenium WebDriver / BDD / JavaScript.

- Senior profiles (6+ years) should have framework development experience.

- Must have good experience in API automation using Rest Assured, Karate, or similar tools.

- Experience in in-sprint automation in Agile (BDD/Cucumber, SpecFlow).

- Experience in database validations and SQL.

- Hands-on CI/CD experience in Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, TestNG, and Serenity.

- Experience in continuous test automation using Jenkins/ADO.

- Experience in Automation Life Cycle activities (Feasibility, Estimation, Executing PoCs, etc.

- Able to debug and provide solutions for practical problems.

- Ability to own and drive delivery independently.

- Strong programming logic and problem-solving capability.

- Good to have manual testing experience on web applications.

Good communication skills :

Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience :

- Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, Ansible/Chef, Docker, MongoDB, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Nexus/Jfrog, etc.

- Experience in enabling in-sprint automation for non-functional testing (Performance - JMeter, Accessibility - Jaws, Visual - Applitools).

- Knowledge of code quality tools (Sonar, Jacoco, SeaLights).

- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and their applicability to testing.

- Exposure to SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)
