Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Manager Accounts & Finance
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: PAMS ENGINEERING, Hootagalli Industrial Area, Mysore.
Reports To: Managing Director / Director

Job Summary:
The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial and accounting operations of the automobile manufacturing plant. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing budgets, and supporting financial planning and analysis. The Accounts Manager will lead a team of accountants and collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow reports).
    • Ensure that financial records comply with company policies, industry regulations, and tax laws.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    • Conduct regular financial analysis and prepare reports for senior management to support decision-making.


  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Prepare and manage annual budgets for the manufacturing facility.
    • Monitor budget performance, providing analysis of variances and implementing corrective actions as needed.
    • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.


  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
    • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate payment terms, and ensure all payments are made in accordance with agreements.
    • Ensure all customer invoices are generated correctly and payments are processed efficiently.


  1. Compliance and Taxation:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations (e.g., sales tax, VAT, income tax).
    • Work closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and timely audits.
    • Ensure all regulatory filings, such as tax returns and financial reports, are submitted accurately and on time.


  1. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor cash flow on a daily basis to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
    • Work with senior management to develop strategies for cash flow optimization.
    • Manage working capital, including inventory control and supplier payments.


  1. Internal Controls and Risk Management:
    • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Ensure that all financial operations comply with internal policies and industry standards.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks and take corrective actions where necessary.


  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of accountants and finance professionals.
    • Provide ongoing training to ensure the team remains updated on accounting best practices, software, and industry trends.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to promote professional growth.


  1. Financial Systems and Processes:
    • Oversee the use and maintenance of accounting software and systems.
    • Improve and streamline accounting processes and reporting methods to increase efficiency.
    • Ensure proper documentation of financial transactions and processes.


  1. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the operations, procurement, and production teams to ensure accurate cost allocation and expense tracking.
    • Support manufacturing-related financial analysis, such as product costing, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation.
    • Provide financial insights and support to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree (M.Com) or professional certification is a plus.


  • Experience:
    • 8-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automobile manufacturing or industrial sector.
    • Proven experience in managing financial teams, budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting operations.
    • Experience in managing accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.


  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally or other ERP systems).
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
    • Knowledge of cost accounting and financial modeling, especially in a manufacturing environment.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position, typically Monday through Saturday, with occasional overtime during peak periods (e.g., year-end reporting, audits).
  • The role is office-based, with occasional travel to manufacturing sites or supplier locations as required.
