Job Title: Sr Data Scientist
Location: Bengaluru
Reporting to: Senior Manager
1. PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to contribute to an ML project. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ML, statistics, automation, and generally building Python systems with attention to testing and automation. This role will involve working closely with business leaders to understand how the business works and to build software systems to optimize it collaboratively with a large team in a single regression model/codebase.
2. KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Roles & Responsibilities:
Machine Learning Model Development:
- Design, implement, and optimize ML models for regression and classification tasks, tailoring approaches to the needs of a single, scalable regression model.
- Use TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other ML frameworks to build scalable models with a focus on code readability, reusability, and effective testing practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment on metrics to evaluate and iterate on models.
Statistical Business Lead:
- Design statistical processes to be able to handle and efficiently use data with business nuances and recommend under business feasible constraints.
- This will involve things like deriving math formulas for reliability of recommendations under various confidence issues.
- Implement scalable statistics
- Experiences in calculating statistics to advise business, while developing such that the same iterative decision process can be fully optimized and traced, with attention to automatic reporting when structural changes (such as which model to use or a decrease in statistical confidence) change over time.
Data Infrastructure and Cloud Management:
- Deploy and maintain data pipelines and ML models on Azure, leveraging services such as Azure Databricks, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), and Azure ML.
- Develop automated data processing workflows using Azure Functions, Data Factory, and Azure Storage to support model training and deployment.
- Monitor cloud resources to ensure performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness.
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Education:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a developer.
Skills:
- Fluency in Python, Pandas, NumPy and TensorFlow.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep.
