Job Description - Chief Financial Officer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning:

- Develop and implement the company's financial strategy to drive profitability, cash flow management, and long-term growth.

- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling to ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals.

- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for business decisions and investments.

2. Fundraising & Investor Relations:

- Lead capital-raising efforts (equity and debt) by identifying, negotiating, and securing funding from investors, VCs, and financial institutions.

- Build strong relationships with investors, providing regular updates on financial performance, company growth, and key milestones.

- Oversee equity structuring, valuation, and fundraising strategies for future growth.

3. Financial Operations & Reporting:

- Oversee end-to-end financial operations, including accounting, treasury, revenue assurance, and reconciliation processes for payment flows.

- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including P&L, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and investor dashboards.

- Implement robust internal controls, systems, and financial governance processes to ensure operational efficiency.

4. Cash Flow & Capital Management:

- Optimize working capital and manage cash flow to meet operational and regulatory requirements.

- Monitor transaction volumes, settlement cycles, and fee revenue to maximize profitability and liquidity.

- Ensure efficient capital allocation for growth, investments, and operational expenses.

5. Risk Management & Compliance:

- Ensure full compliance with financial and regulatory frameworks, including RBI guidelines, PCI-DSS, taxation laws, and other fintech-specific regulations.

- Proactively identify and mitigate financial, operational, and payment-related risks.

- Drive audits and governance processes to ensure transparency and compliance with industry standards.

6. Strategic Partnerships & Growth Initiatives:

- Collaborate with business teams to evaluate and drive partnerships with banks, payment networks, and other stakeholders.

- Support mergers, acquisitions, or strategic investment opportunities to scale operations.

- Provide financial inputs for new product launches, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies.

7. Team Leadership:

- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.

- Implement and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to support scalability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial performance with operational execution

Job Requirements:

- Education: CA, CPA, or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.

Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years in fintech, payment aggregators, or financial services.

- Proven experience in fundraising, capital structuring, investor relations, and financial modeling.

- Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, settlement cycles, regulatory frameworks, and fintech operations.

- Deep knowledge of fintech industry dynamics, digital payments, and regulatory compliance (RBI, PCI- DSS, AML, etc.).

- Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.
