Job Description

Proposed KRAs for Publishing Services of FCCL

Print

  1. Understand the project requirements and identify quality vendors for typesetters, creative designers, and creative artists (catering to different styles). Check the samples and give reasons/feedback for short-listing them before sending the sample to the Editors.
  2. Negotiate best rates with vendors (typesetters, creative designers, and creative artists). Arrange the contracts for vendors as required.
  3. Negotiate best timelines with vendors keeping in mind the projects schedules.
  4. Arrange print quality-check with Production for the approved design/artworks and style-sheet elements.
  5. Cross-check the materials shared by the Editors with a checklist before sending it to the vendors (typesetting or artwork or design).
  6. Quality-check the deliverables from the vendors. Timely flagging of any issues and escalate it appropriately with solutions as required.
  7. Track and maintain the project status of the different components of FCCL on a day-to-day basis and flag issues, if any.
  8. Pre-flight check of all files before handover to Production.
  9. Arrange the back-ups from the vendors and quality-check them. Uploading files and back-ups in code mantra after a thorough quality check of the files and following the naming conventions.
  10. Water-mark PDFs for sales promotions as required and maintain a record of the same with the files.
  11. Handle production-related queries from the printer for the files handed over for printing. Timely escalation and probable solutions for any issues as required.
  12. Arrange the vendor bills and raise the Pos in SAP. Maintain and track the vendor payment with ISBNs, IOs, POs, vendor accounts, bill submission dates, etc.
  13. Create vendor accounts/codes as required and maintain the vendor data.
  14. Maintain and track with a checklist for all the activities from MSS to Code Mantra for all the projects of FCCL.
  15. Research on the different products in the market in terms of the look and feel, illustrations, paper quality, etc., to suggest ways to enhance our products.


Digital

  1. Understand the project requirement and identify quality vendors (for animations and audio). Check the sample and short-list the best with reasons before sharing it with the Editors.
  2. Negotiate best rates and timelines with the vendors and arrange the contracts as required.
  3. Do the ACE workflow process for the OEs after discussing with the Editorial and Head, CDS.
  4. Create vendor accounts/codes as required and maintain the vendor data.
  5. Cross-check the materials shared by the Editors with a checklist before sending it to the vendors.
  6. Quality-check the deliverables from the vendors. Timely flagging of any issues and escalate it appropriately with solutions as required.


  1. Coordinate with the Tech team for the OEs. Maintain and track the OE status. Timely flagging of any issues and escalate it appropriately with solutions as required.
  2. Handle any queries from the Tech team or Hurix platform vendor, and suggest solutions as required.
  3. Arrange the vendor bills and raise the POs in SAP. Maintain and track the vendor payment with ISBNs, IOs, POs, vendor accounts, bill submission dates, etc.
  4. Handle OE-related queries from Marketing, Sales, and Schools. Escalate and provide solutions as required.
  5. Maintain and track data on OE queries and solutions so that it can help us in avoiding the same or similar issues and making the OEs more user-friendly.
  6. Research on different digital resources and how we can enhance the OEs within our costs.
