Encyclopdia Britannica is looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable, digital-first writer and editor who will be responsible for Britannicas coverage of topics across assigned discipline clusters.

Demonstrable subject matter expertise is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have a masters degree and will have the curiosity and enthusiasm to reach beyond their area of expertise, create content about topics that may not be immediately familiar, and be energized by sharing what they know and what theyve learned with Britannicas audience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, in partnership with colleagues, contributors, and advisers, how Britannica can expand and maintain its coverage of topics in the assigned disciplines.
Working with colleagues and managers to identify articles that need revision and updating such articles so that they are current, engaging to todays learners, and complete.
Editing, writing, and commissioning new articles.
Collaborating with media editors and illustrators on the acquisition and production of images, videos, and other media.
Working with other editors during the revision and fact-checking process.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The applicant should have significant writing and editing experience. Please include links to three appropriate writing samples with your application.
The applicant should have a masters degree; a bachelor's degree with professional experience and broad contacts will be considered a substitute.
The ideal applicant will have 4-6 years work experience relevant to this role.
