Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled CAD Designer to join our Jewelry Design Department in the Gems and Jewelry industry. As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for creating and generating innovative, market-responsive, and manufacturable jewelry designs using CAD software. Your designs will play a pivotal role in bringing our brands vision to life while adhering to current trends, customer requirements, and production feasibility. You will work closely with management and production teams to ensure that designs are both aesthetically compelling and practical for production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Creation:
• Use CAD software to create detailed jewelry designs based on management’s provided briefs, including customer requirements, market trends, and production considerations.
• Ensure designs are innovative, unique, and in line with current trends while maintaining the brand’s identity.
• Feasibility & Manufacturing Ease:
• Design jewelry that is manufacturable, considering the ease of production and capabilities of artisans.
• Collaborate with management to ensure that designs meet production standards and are easy to implement.
• Design Revisions & Feedback:
• Present initial designs to management and incorporate feedback to refine and improve designs.
• Work closely with the management team to ensure design goals and project objectives are met.
• Intellectual Property Protection:
• Ensure that all designs are proprietary to the company and remain confidential.
• Maintain accurate records of all design files, including 3D models, technical drawings, and design revisions.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work under the direct supervision of management during the design conceptualization phase to ensure clarity and alignment on project objectives.
• Maintain clear communication with the Design Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
• Design Approval & Prototype Preparation:
• Finalize CAD designs and collaborate with the production team to prepare prototypes for manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Education:
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Jewelry Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience in CAD design, preferably within the gems and jewelry industry.
• Proven experience in creating jewelry designs using CAD software (e.g., Rhino, Matrix, or similar CAD tools).
• Strong knowledge of current jewelry trends, customer preferences, and the manufacturing process for jewelry.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Expertise in CAD modelling and 3D design for jewelry.
• Strong understanding of the design-to-manufacturing process, with an emphasis on ease of production.
• Attention to detail, creativity, and innovation in design.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
