Job Description
- 10+ years of total experience in a technical capacity as a software developer, lead or architect .
- 5+ years distributed cloud engineering experience in a software development environment
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related technical field
- Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in PaaS engineering
- Expertise in developing service-oriented architectures with a focus on APIs, micro-services and containers (Docker)
- Experience in developing software with one of Java, Go, C++ as well as scripting languages such as Python is a must
- Experience with networking and related technologies such as MPLS, HTTP/s, BGP, tcpdump, pcap, etc.
- Experience working with other cloud platform teams, product management and accommodating requirements from those teams (compute, networking, search, store, databases).
- Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences including software management, product management and other technical leaders .
- Comfortable in a collaborative, agile development environment
- Experience with making technical/business trade-offs to deliver customer impacting results in a timely fashion
- Experience mentoring senior members of technical staff
- Ability to plan and reduce technical debt without compromising on feature velocity
- Experience with routing protocols such as BGP
- CCNA or related certification
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design, specifically within a cloud environment
- Familiarity with full-stack including a UI platform such as React or Vue
- Understanding of cross-functional platform feature areas in cloud platforms
