Database Test and Tools Development team is looking for bright and talented engineers from top tier institutes to apply their ingenuity to test Oracle s flagship product

It is an opportunity to demonstrate your skills as a Test Development Engineer for Oracle s cloud enabled platforms by developing cloud enabled tests for various features in Database, Cloud services and Engineered systems

We need to develop tools/ framework and test applications/scripts and automate the test setup needed for the features of Oracle Kernel code we are testing and often would need to simulate functionality in a regular Linux machine to run functional tests

This is a programming position as all the tests/frameworks are applications which should exercise a feature in the yet to be released version of Oracle product

These test programs runs fully automated on a server farm - so our test framework need to configure, run test applications/inject failures, and verify results by itself

Most of the features would need very specific test programs/frameworks

The opening is for an individual contributor position in Database test and tools development team

In this position, you will be working very closely with the feature development team to create a test plan/tools/infrastructure needed for the feature

You will also be reviewing the feature specifications (Functional & Design spec) before it is finalized as your inputs from a customer perspective might be important in the implementation


Our primary development platform is Linux, and depending on the area you work on the coding would involve Perl, Python, C or Java to develop test programs

ORACLE TEXT is a powerful text search, hybrid search of text and vector, and analytics product in Oracle database, fully integrated with all versions of the Oracle Autonomous database, Oracle Vector Database, Autonomous Database Cloud Services

It:
- enables users to build text query applications and document classification applications


- provides indexing, words and theme searching and viewing capabilities


- manages and finds text stored in the database, on the file system, or on the Web


- documents can be of any size and of different formats, such as HTML, PDF, or Microsoft Word, etc
- query on both unstructured and semi-structured text data


- provides advanced features for text management, document services (such as themes, gists, etc), JSON and XML query

Through Oracle Text, users can quickly create a basic text index, search index, JSON search index, hybrid vector index or explore an advanced set of customizations that provide filtering, lexing and sectioning right out of the box - over a hundred file formats and dozens of languages

It is also an advanced PL/SQL toolkit for application developers that wish to provide search, faceting and document analytics to their users

Oracle Text implements the functionality behind name search on Oracle employee database, serves as the JSON search index infrastructures and provides tokenization services to the Oracle Advanced Analytics product

The position is to develop end to end test scenarios for functional, cross functional testing of Oracle Text projects features with other Oracle RDBMS features and some security testing as needs arise

Candidate will participate in all stages of development process such as reviewing functional spec, writing test spec (TS), having TS reviewed, developing, running & merging tests developed, etc
