We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager to join our team. The Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the direct and indirect tax activities for our operations in India as well as managing a local team responsible for outsourced global VAT and corporate income tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian taxation, as well as experience in managing and coordinating tax compliance activities on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (Income Tax, GST, TDS, etc.).
Manage and maintain compliance with direct (corporate tax) and indirect taxes (GST, VAT) working closely with external providers.
Coordinate the preparation and review of tax calculations, estimates, and reports.
Ensure compliance with all statutory tax requirements in India, including transfer pricing documentation.
Tax Planning:
Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide recommendations on tax optimization strategies.
Advise senior management on changes in tax regulations and their potential impact on the business.
Tax Reporting:
Oversee the accurate calculation and recording of tax liabilities in financial statements.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports for internal management and external authorities.
Tax Audits and Assessments:
Support tax audits, assessments, and queries from tax authorities.
Prepare necessary documentation and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
Internal Tax Policies and Procedures:
Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and control mechanisms.
Provide tax training and updates to internal teams on relevant tax matters.
Regulatory Changes and Impact:
Monitor and analyze changes in Indian tax laws, rulings, and case law.
Assess the impact of tax law changes on business operations and strategy.
Collaboration:
Work closely with finance, accounting, and legal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment on tax-related matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving taxation matters.
Qualifications:
CA (Chartered Accountant) or equivalent qualification is required.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Indian direct and indirect taxation. Experience either in a large public accounting firm, law firm or multinational company preferred.
Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, including Income Tax, GST, and TDS.
Experience in handling tax audits and assessments.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex tax data.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines.
Proficiency in tax software and Workday ERP systems is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
