Electrical Testing Engineer

• Minimum, 5 to 8 year experience in electrical/electronic hardware design & development for Automated Test Equipment in any of the domains like Automotive, Aviation Or Rail Road/Mass Transit
• Experience in understanding the customer requirements & converting them to technical requirements document.
• Provide effort estimates, schedule, development of specifications for lab test setup, build the required test facilities and execution of components or subsystems tests.
• Design and develop electrical Automated Test Equipment (ATE), test fixtures and test setups, consistent with the requirements of the product design/cross functional teams.
• Capable to select/design Control Panels & create conceptual layouts using any of the mentioned CAD tool like UG, SOLIDWORKS, SOLIDEDGE etc.
• Capable to convert the 3D models in to the GA, assembly & sub-assembly drawings (should have experience with modular rack enclosures & expertise in the material or specification selection)
• Experience in the AUTOCAD for electrical schematics, Wiring & hookup drawings. Shall be able to produce the layer/hierarchical details if required.
• Experience in hand calculations & selections of cables/wire (size, type & specification) as per the application requirement
• Experience in current rating, short circuit/over-load assessment or developing DFMEA, SFMEA scorecards.
• Hands on experience in Electrical panel wiring, troubleshooting the Electrical Panel.
• Hands on expertise in preparing Electrical Schematics using Auto cad /similar tool.
• Hands on expertise in Wiring Harness design (for multicore cable looms with form board level layout & pinout detailing of harness)
• Experience or trained in the industrial standard practice for wiring harness build & validation as per IPC/WHMA-A-620.
• Knowledge of Drives, PLC, embedded, PAC, PCI,PXI, VXI etc platforms hardware integration & wiring.
• Desired, experience in PCB layout/designing, component level sizing & selection & PCB layer specification detailing as per application requirement.
• Collaborate with external labs such as Transcal, ETDC, SKC, TUV, UL, FCRI, CPRI, Intertek etc. to leverage their capabilities for product validation if required.
• Knowledge of EN50155-2017 and EN50125-1 (electronic equipment used on rolling stock for railway applications will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of QMS and Safety Systems (ISO-9001/17025, NABL, NFPA and OSHAS will be added advantage).
• Exposure to process like NPI, Toll Gate, FMEA & EHS protocols followed during the product development stages (should have individually worked & demonstrated in previous role).
• Shall be conversant with the engineering change control process, PLM process, product validation process.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelors/Diploma in Electrical and Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechatronics engineering discipline from reputed institute.
• 5 Plus years of hands-on experience in testing of electrical/electronic products in the field of automotive / rail / aerospace Industry
• Proven Experience & background in R&D or product design, development or validation background with open mindset to learning or adopt to the demanding project specific process or shall be able to help team in enabling the new or proven process as per the standard/industrial best practices

• Demonstrated strong understanding of design & development of product or solution for Automated Test equipment, process instrumentation, special purpose.
• Should have strong engineering fundamentals in electrical/electronic domain & shall have good understanding of products integration or interfacing related to instrumentation & controls, electronic communication, electro-mechanical domain.

Desired Characteristics:

• Demonstrated expertise in component validation in Rail / Automotive or Aerospace domain.
• Design of test benches and rigs for Production / laboratory testing and prototype testing.
• Global exposure with experience of working with global partners.
• Demonstrated capability of leading projects and executing on time/quality/cost.
