Guides nursing staff, particularly new graduates in the recognition of and professional attention to patient needs.
Continually develops both personally and professionally to meet the changing needs of nursing staff.
Effectively directs staff to independently access resource material.
Ensures that all documentation is completed in a professional manner.
Is aware of functions and services provided by other departments and provides clear and relevant information when collaborating with other departments.
Protects the rights of patients whilst respecting their values, customs and spiritual beliefs.
Conducts in-service / orientation / continuous nursing education/bed side training for nursing staffs.
Monitors the apprenticeship/traineeship programs.
Act as a resource person and source of knowledge for nursing staff.
Provides professional educational support and guidance to clinical and non-clinical staff.
Assists with Basic Life Support education.
Demonstrates a willingness to work positively within a team to achieve team goals and the provision of excellence in care/service delivery
Demonstrates and practices effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills and actively develops good listening skills
Supports Quality program and initiates relevant improvements.
Ensures that all documentation is accurate and completed in a professional and timely manner as per the hospital policy.
Staff appraisal to be conducted within 6 months of probationary period, then every twelve (12) months.
Evaluates performance in a planned and systematic way and seeks feedback from customers in relation to the service delivered.
