Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Production Management:
• Plan, schedule, and oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase output.
• Develop and implement production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory goals.
2. Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and production staff.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and develop training programs.
3. Quality Assurance:
• Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and monitor quality control processes and KPIs to identify areas for improvement.
• Address and resolve quality issues promptly.
4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Promote a safe working environment by implementing robust safety programs and training.
• Investigate and address any incidents or accidents on the production floor.
5. Financial and Budgetary Oversight:
• Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, including labour, materials, and equipment expenses.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Monitor key financial metrics and report results to senior leadership.
6. Strategic Planning and Innovation:
• Contribute to the development of the manufacturing strategy to support long-term company goals.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and systems to improve production efficiency.
• Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with the supply chain, procurement, engineering, and quality teams to streamline processes.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on production priorities and goals.
• Act as a liaison between manufacturing and senior management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT(S):
• Bachelors /Masters degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT(S):
• 15-20 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment.
• Proven experience in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and drive organizational change.
