We are seeking a highly knowledgeable NRI, RBI/SEBI & FEMA matter Compliance Specialist covering capital markets domain to manage and ensure compliance with regulations under the NRI, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) for Resident and Non-Resident as applicable. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, in-depth understanding of NRI related SEBI/RBI guidelines and FEMA regulations, and experience in implementing NRI compliance frameworks for financial and foreign exchange transactions and advisory matters for the Group. The candidate will assist Group & International compliance officers on all NRI/RBI/FEMA compliance matters.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. NRI & RBI Compliance:
- Stay updated on and interpret NRI related RBI/SEBI circulars, notifications, and guidelines impacting financial institutions.
- Ensure compliance with RBI/SEBI regulations related to NRI banking, capital market services covering Custody, Clearing, Broking, Wealth and Asset Management and other financial services.
2.FEMA Compliance:
- Provide advisory services to business units on FEMA matters including foreign direct investments (FDI), FPI's outbound investments for capital markets business.
3.Policy Development:
Develop and implement internal policies and processes to ensure adherence to NRI related RBI/SEBI and FEMA guidelines as applicable.
- Conduct periodic audits to assess the effectiveness of compliance measures and report findings to senior management.
- Train employees on NRI, RBI/SEBI and FEMA regulations to ensure company-wide compliance.
4.Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track changes in NRI, RBI/SEBI and FEMA regulations and update internal teams on compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of transactions, filings, and communications related to NRI/SEBI/RBI/FEMA.
5. Risk Management:
- Identify and assess risks related to NRI capital Markets compliance, foreign exchange and RBI/SEBI compliance issues.
- Recommend corrective measures to mitigate compliance risks.
- Act as the primary point of contact for NRI/SEBI, regulatory audits and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Law, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Professional certification in compliance or regulatory affairs (preferred).
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in NRI, RBI/SEBI and FEMA compliance within financial institutions, banks, or multinational companies.
Functional Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of NRI, RBI /SEBI circulars, FEMA provisions, and related laws.
- Excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidelines in a practical business context.
