Data Architect (AWS or Snowflake)

Responsibilities

• Design and architect data solutions using Snowflake, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Grasp business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and data models.
• Develop and maintain data architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices
• Define and execute data lake strategies, ensuring seamless integration with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
• Drive technology decisions, cloud migrations, and data modernization initiatives.
• Optimize data ingestion, storage, and processing frameworks for performance and cost efficiency.
• Lead teams on implementation of data pipelines, ETL, and data governance frameworks within Snowflake environments.
• Mentor data engineering teams, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Performance tuning and optimization of Snowflake databases and queries.
• Partner with BI teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in Snowflake, cloud data technologies, data governance, and DataOps practices.

Skills

• Extensive experience on Snowflake and AWS with a proven track record of architecting and delivering complex data solutions.
• Expertise in data modeling, schema design, and optimization within Snowflake environments.
• Strong data fundamentals: RDBMS concepts, cloud data warehousing concepts and best practices,
• Expertise in python/java/scala, SQL, ETL processes, and data integration techniques, with a focus on Snowflake.
• Experience on DataBricks, PySpark, Apache Bigdata techstack will be a huge plus.
• Experience with data governance frameworks and DataOps practices.
• Familiarity with realtime streaming technologies and Change Data Capture (CDC) mechanisms.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and DataOps methodologies
• Familiarity of data security and compliance standards
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and lead cross-functional initiatives
