Design Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Design Manager with a strong background in US Real Estate development. The Design Manager will be responsible for leading the design process for real estate development projects, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and functional design solutions that meet project goals, timelines, and budgets. This role will collaborate with internal teams, external architects, designers, contractors, and clients to bring real estate visions to life, particularly for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design process for various real estate projects, from concept through to completion.
• Oversee the development and implementation of design concepts that align with project objectives, brand standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and mentor a team of architects, interior designers, and junior design staff, providing guidance and support throughout the design and development phases.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, and external consultants to ensure seamless integration of design intent with construction execution.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
• Review and approve design documents, including schematic designs, design development packages, and construction drawings.
• Ensure design solutions are in line with US building codes, accessibility standards, sustainability goals, and zoning requirements.
• Conduct site visits and design meetings, ensuring that the design vision is consistently followed during the construction phase.
• Monitor and manage project budgets, timelines, and quality control to ensure the design is executed within the agreed parameters.
• Provide creative input and innovation, staying current with design trends, materials, and technological advancements in the real estate sector.
• Manage risk and troubleshoot design-related challenges that may arise during construction or post-construction phases.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to present design proposals and incorporate feedback into final design plans.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in design management within the real estate development industry, with a focus on the US market.
• Proven experience leading and managing design teams in large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of US building codes, zoning laws, ADA compliance, sustainability regulations, and other regulatory standards specific to real estate design.
• Experience managing multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring quality control, on-time delivery, and adherence to budgets.
• Familiarity with architectural and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, etc.).
