Job Description

Summary

The accountabilities and responsibilities of the Manager in ORE are to:

Manage the process of outsourcing scientific activities for BR scientific functions and the operational relationship with external CROs

Provide operational management of CROs supporting a broad range of BR scientific functions
Responsible for driving and evolving an efficient, cost-effective, high-quality, and flexible infrastructure for outsourcing scientific activities across BR
Function as the scientific contact for initiating, tracking, executing, and internalizing outsourcing requests with deep technical know-how
Hold shared responsibility with scientific functions for assay performance and data QC
Collect input and provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and timelines for the ORE group; identify issues, propose and implement mitigation plans for decision making
Responsible for management and assessment of Novartis external CRO performance
Ensure implementation and adherence to BR compliance and operational policies

Business Use Only

Academic and Other Key Requirements:

Masters, or equivalent in relevant discipline with appropriate years of experience in a relevant field within drug discovery or related areas.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience with appropriate years in a relevant field within drug discovery or related areas.
Is an emerging leader or excellent, consistent contributor
Demonstrates proven ability to positively impact project goals and directions based on analysis of available information
skills in managing people and projects
