Job Description

Job Title: Training Officer (Hospital)

Location: Pune

Department: Human Resources / Learning & Development



Job Summary:

The Training Officer is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering training programs aimed at improving the skills, knowledge, and performance of hospital staff. This role ensures that all employees are adequately trained to provide high-quality care, maintain safety standards, and meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Design & Development:
    • Develop and update training materials, courses, and modules based on hospital needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and design specific learning paths for staff at various levels.
    • Create engaging training materials (presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, etc.) to enhance the learning experience.
  • Training Delivery:
    • Conduct training sessions (in-person and virtual) for various hospital departments, including clinical, non-clinical, and support staff.
    • Provide orientation and onboarding training to new hires, ensuring they are familiar with hospital policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Deliver refresher courses to ensure staff is up-to-date with the latest practices, regulations, and technologies.
  • Assessment & Evaluation:
    • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, quizzes, tests, and performance reviews.
    • Monitor and track employee progress and performance post-training to ensure learning objectives are met.
    • Make recommendations for program improvements based on evaluations and feedback.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Requirements:
    • Ensure that all training programs comply with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and accreditation requirements.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends in healthcare training, certifications, and industry standards.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work closely with hospital management and department heads to align training efforts with organizational goals.
    • Provide support and guidance to staff on training-related issues and development opportunities.
  • Record Keeping & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of employee training, certifications, and attendance.
    • Generate reports on training progress and provide updates to HR and management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a training or instructional role, preferably in a healthcare setting. Certification in Training is a must.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Knowledge of hospital operations and healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA, JCI, etc.).
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
    • Ability to assess training effectiveness and suggest improvements.
