Key skills for the job
- This position will be responsible for the operations of 2 product divisions : 1) Instruments 2) Automation.
- The total strength of the employees in manufacturing in these 2 divisions is 175+ employees.
- The complete operations of these 2 divisions will report to this position, and the incumbent will bev responsible for production, planning, stores, quality management, reporting and data analysis, general. management including but not limited to HR & admin of these departments, forming & designing of SOPs and strategies, etc.
- There will be 7 direct reportees and 5 with a dotted line of reporting.
- 15-20 years in handling overall operations (hands on experience in.
- Manufacturing engineering, Production, Quality, Stores, Dispatch) of a mid-sized, multi-product manufacturing company.
- Minimum 10 years experience in SMT manufacturing.
- Production / Manufacturing.
- Oversee day to day production activities for planning & execution.
- Design and monitor productivity improvement plan for each division.
- Manage workflow of complex production processes for all Electronics products (instruments).
- Managing, scheduling and monitoring Project Management of Automation division.
- Preventive maintenance of plant and machinery.
- Ensure compliance to safety requirements and regulations for all factory operations.
- Managing Service department and related activities eg : after sales support, customer complaints, etc.
Planning & Organizing:
- Coordinate and plan operational activity for meeting deadlines on production schedules, project schedules, material availability & compliances.
- Work closely with Presales (Commercial) & Procurement /Purchase for ensuring timely deliveries of products.
- Maintain stock levels of critical raw material and Semi-finished goods for various products.
- Proper deployment of resources (Manpower & Material) as per sales order / Job order / Project order.
- Planning of project execution, work schedule, manpower schedule, FATs, etc.
Quality Management:
- Focus on quality systems implementation and improvement.
- Improve yield by reducing quality rejections.
- Reducing wastages by eliminating rework.
- Prioritize and ensure timely delivery to customers as per orders.
- Handling customer complaints and resolving repetitive issues through CAPA.
- Effectively implement various techniques for quality improvements.
- Implementation of quality standards on ongoing basis.
Analytics:
- Analyze production data / project execution and optimize for efficiency.
- Collate and study various financials viz., manpower budget, overtime costs, material costs, consumables, for cost optimization.
- Submit Monthly / quarterly / annual reports on various metrics pertaining to productivity, absenteeism, Customer complaints, etc.
General management:
- Manpower planning and hiring.
- Take measures to control absenteeism & attrition.
- Training, upgradation and evaluation of team.
- Submission of review of team goals on a Monthly / Annual basis.
- Enhance skills of core team members on new procedures & practices by imparting inhouse on-job training & learning opportunities.
- Designing of SOPs for smoother operations.
Driving Growth:
- Study of market and competition for new products to be designed.
- Coordination with Design department for new products.
- Promotion of new products by providing technical and promotional material such as catalogs, datasheets, etc to the marketing and sales teams.
- Promotion of all products by push marketing identifying products/applications/customers and providing data to the sales team.
