Overview
Newton School is seeking a strategic Lead Product Designer to drive our design vision and mentor our growing design team. Youll play a crucial role in shaping our educational products while building and nurturing a culture of design excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

• Drive product design vision and strategy aligned with business objectives
• Lead and mentor a team of product designers, fostering growth and excellence
• Establish and maintain design processes, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with leadership to define product roadmap and design priorities

Design Excellence

• Champion user-centered design principles across the organization
• Lead complex design initiatives from research through implementation
• Develop and evolve our design system to ensure consistency and efficiency
• Drive design critique sessions and quality standards

Cross-functional Leadership

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to drive product success
• Present and advocate for design solutions to stakeholders
• Balance business requirements with user needs and technical constraints
• Guide research initiatives to inform product decisions

Requirements

• 5-6 years of product design experience
• 2+ years of design team leadership experience
• Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic product design work
• Expert in design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Experience scaling design systems and processes
• Track record of shipping successful products
• Strong understanding of modern web/mobile technologies
• Experience in education technology preferred
