Position : Senior Database Engineer - PostgreSQL Specialist

Experience : 9+ Years

Location :

1st Preference : Remote/Hybrid

2nd Preference : Chennai (Work From Office)

Shift Timing : UK Time Zone

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the development and maintenance of PostgreSQL features, including :

- New product feature development.

- Bug fixes and patch reviews (security, performance, and code quality).

- Long-term support and optimization of queries and indexing strategies.

- Contribute modules and Foreign Data Wrappers (FDWs).

- Architect and design robust database systems based on business requirements.

- Plan and design storage and network architecture for efficient database operations.

- Implement and integrate monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and proactive issue detection.

- Develop, test, and document data recovery processes, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

- Utilize automation tools to enhance database management processes and reduce manual effort.

- Lead and manage database-related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

- Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to define and deliver on project requirements.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest database trends and technologies to continuously improve database infrastructure.

- Plan and execute data migration projects for system upgrades or platform changes.

Desired Skills & Qualifications :

- Proven expertise in PostgreSQL development and optimization.

- Strong knowledge of database design, architecture, and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with storage and network architecture for database systems.

- Proficiency in implementing monitoring and alerting frameworks.

- Experience with data recovery processes and disaster recovery planning.

- Familiarity with automation tools for database management.

- Excellent project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Experience in planning and executing large-scale data migrations is a plus.
