Position Description: Senior Finance Analyst - (Finance accounting)
Location: Bangalore, India
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Record to Report (R2R) Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial accounting and reporting processes within the organization. This role will ensure accurate and timely closure of financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and the preparation of financial statements that reflect the business's financial position.
As part of the R2R process, you will be tasked with overseeing the general ledger, month end/year-end closing, financial consolidation, and the preparation of management and statutory reports. You will work closely with various internal and external teams including FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis), Business Finance, Procure to pay, Tax team, Treasury team and marketplace team to ensure accurate financial reporting and also drive process improvements.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Major work responsibilities shall comprise of the below:
- Maintain and update the general ledger (GL) to ensure it accurately reflects the company's financial transactions.
- Perform and review regular account reconciliations, including resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely adjustments.
- Lead and manage the month-end and year-end book close processes, ensuring that all financial data is captured accurately and within the specified timelines.
- Ensure adherence to month-end closing checklists, including review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure all accruals, provisions, and adjustments are properly recorded.
- Lead the preparation of annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, etc.) in accordance with company's adopted accounting policies and applicable accounting standards (Ind AS).
- Lead the preparation of management reports that highlight financial performance and variances, and provide insights into key metrics (e.g., sales, inventory, cost of goods sold, etc.).
- Provide detailed financial analysis and support business decision-making.
- Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled by coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary support in documentation and closure.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place for the recording and reporting of financial transactions.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and improve the R2R process, identifying areas for automation, error reduction, and reporting enhancements.
- Provide ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as required by senior management, helping to answer specific business questions or drive strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualification:
- CA with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Should have strong excel skills and ability to handle volumes,
- Oracle ERP knowledge preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to multi-task and deal with ambiguity.
