Role Overview:

The Treasury Back Office Lead will oversee and manage all treasury operations within the back-office function, ensuring the smooth processing, reconciliation, and reporting of treasury transactions. The role will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities related to liquidity management, borrowing repayments, investments, reporting, reconciliations, cash flows etc., while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and best practices. The individual will work closely with treasury front office and finance teams to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of treasury operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the end-to-end treasury operations including borrowing documentations, payment processing, reconciliation, and data management for all treasury-related transactions (FX, money market, debt instruments, etc.).

- Oversee the reconciliation process of cash positions, securities, and other treasury-related instruments between systems and with banks.

- Support liquidity management by tracking cash positions and ensuring availability of funds for operational needs.

- Work closely with the treasury front office to manage daily cash flows, funding requirements, and short-term investments.

- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions to ensure optimal utilization of available cash.

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of various treasury-related reports, including cash flow statements, transaction reports and others for internal and external stakeholders.

- Maintain and update records for all treasury transactions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards.

- Support the treasury front office in identifying and managing operational risks in relation to treasury activities.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (RBI, SEBI, etc.), company policies, and accounting standards for treasury functions.

- Coordinate internal audits and external audits as needed for treasury operations.

- Continuously review and improve treasury back-office processes to increase efficiency and reduce operational risks.

- Drive automation initiatives, ensuring that treasury operations leverage technology for enhanced operational control and efficiency.

- Lead and supervise a team of treasury operations professionals, ensuring optimal performance and development.

- Provide mentorship and training to team members on treasury systems, procedures, and best practices.

- Collaborate with the front office (treasury trading desk), finance, risk, and accounting teams to ensure seamless execution of treasury transactions and reporting.

- Work with IT and system teams to ensure the smooth functioning of treasury management systems and implement new system upgrades.



Qualifications & Skills:

1. Educational Qualifications:

- Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CA (Chartered Accountant).

2. Experience:

- Minimum 6-7 years of experience in Treasury back/middle office operations, preferably within an NBFC, Bank, or financial services firm.

- Experience with treasury management systems (TMS), financial software, and Excel-based reporting is essential.

- Strong understanding of financial instruments (money market, FX, derivatives, debt instruments) and their operations.

- Proficiency in MS Excel, financial modeling, and reporting.

- Knowledge of regulatory environment and frameworks applicable to NBFCs.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
