Head of Sports

Responsibilities Include:

We at Neev believe in holistic development of the children and creating Excellence or lifelong interest in Athletics, Sports or Movement. Fostering and maintaining physical literacy as the goal of physical activity and development, through a culture of fitness, movement and play for every child irrespective of interest, capability or gender, coaching for excellence in competitive sports for some, and leading a team to build a range of practises for physical activity within and beyond the school time and space; developing the embodied capability of the physically active life-long learner contributing to self-perception and self-esteem.

The envisioned role of Head of sports is with the purpose of building the competencies in the Students for lifelong and making athletic part of everyday life. Produce the best of our athletes to represent in all formats of competitions within India & Globally.

Providing training or coaching to athletes on the technique and rules of competitive track
Training the players in the activities of the team during field events such as sprints, shot-put, javelin throw, pole-vault, etc.
Preparing the schedule of field and track events
Explaining and instructing the fundamental skills and rules of event to individual or groups of athletes under training
Demonstrating the techniques of play by personal example
Paying specific attention to improving health and stamina of the players
Recommending and demonstrating various types of exercises and drills to the players
Assisting the players in their play sessions so as to help them acquire proficiency in the game
Accompanying the teams going out for competition
Documenting the training program and tracking the progress of child development in Athletics & sports
Providing training and guidance to the in-house assistant teachers in developing their capability on technical knowledge on Athletics & sports

WORKING HOURS :

Flexible working hours
Minimum 5 to 6 hours of practice every day with different age groups including PYP, Middle School & Senior School.
Follow the schedule of different grades and creating a plan to implement the training programs that works best for our student community during, before and after the school hours.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING :

Relevant Teaching Qualification in Sports & Athletics
Additional Certifications in Athletic coaching

KEY COMPETENCIES :

In-depth knowledge of all the rules and regulations related to events like shot-put, javelin throw, pole-vault, etc.
Proficient in playing the sport
Skilled in training other athletes
Skilled in handling and using the sports equipment
Skilled in bring out the best in each player and helping them exhibit their talent, prowess, skill, style, etc.
Skilled in keeping a track of all the upcoming track events
Knowledge of nutritional requirements of athletic players
Skilled in providing physical training to the athletes
In-depth knowledge of designing training schedules for the players

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE 4

Preferably minimum experience of 5+ years in coaching in the relevant field

DESIRABLE WORKED PREVIOUSLY IN :

Professional sports teams
Schools and colleges
Individual Athletes
