Automation Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance (6-8 yrs)

Job Title : Senior QA Engineer

Location : Chennai/Bangalore, India

Job Type : Full-time

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and contribute to the QA process for web applications within the Finance Domain.

- Plan, design, and execute manual and automated tests for web-based applications.

- Perform UI Testing to ensure the interfaces meet functional, visual, and usability standards.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and Business Analysts to understand project requirements and translate them into effective testing strategies.

- Use JIRA for tracking defects, test cases, and managing project workflows.

- Work with DevOps to ensure smooth integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines.

- Follow Agile methodologies, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming sessions.

- Identify, document, and report issues with clear descriptions and actionable steps.

- Drive the improvement of testing processes and best practices across the organization.

- Review and analyze requirements and test cases to ensure complete test coverage.

- Mentor and guide junior QA team members and collaborate in knowledge-sharing activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 6+ years of hands-on experience in QA Engineering, with strong exposure to Web Testing.

- Proficient in using JIRA for defect tracking and test management.

- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum or Kanban.

- Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation frameworks.

- Hands-on experience with UI Testing and familiarity with various UI testing tools.

- Strong knowledge of the Finance Domain and its key principles, preferably in web applications.

- Solid understanding of web technologies, browsers, and platforms.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis of issues.

- Experience in writing and executing automated tests (e.g., using Selenium, TestNG, or similar tools) is highly desirable.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in performance testing and load testing.

- Familiarity with REST API testing.

- Knowledge of additional tools like Git, Jenkins, Docker is a plus.
