About the Role :

We are seeking a talented and experienced QA Automation Engineer to spearhead our development team's forts in delivering high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader of quality and have a strong background in automated testing frameworks, particularly Cypress, and be proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Jest.

A deep understanding of DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself) coding patterns, scope management, and SOLID design principles is essential.

This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks to ensure our software meets the highest standards of quality, while also leading and mentoring a team of QA engineers to achieve optimal performance and results.

Responsibilities :

- Asses the current state of the quality assurance program in Ecomms and assist in the methodical documentation and enhancement and improvement of said program.

- Assist in testing of releases : Take full ownership and oversight of quality assurance in the domain of integration tests, unit tests, performance testing, and load-based testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage and rigorous standards are maintained across all phases of the SDLC process.

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and Jest in a JavaScript/ TypeScript environment.

- Monitor tests within our CICD pipeline to ensure they maintain a high level of quality and continue to run as designed.

- Apply DRY and SOLID coding principles and effective scope management to maintain clean, efficient, and reusable code.

- Collaborate with development teams to understand product requirements, features, and technical implementations, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.

- Identify, log, and track defects throughout the software development lifecycle, working closely with developers to ensure they are resolved.

- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.

- Stay updated with the latest trends in QA automation, software development, and testing methodologies.

Experiences and Skills :

- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Cy-press and JavaScript/TypeScript testing environments.

- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a strong understanding of Jest for unit testing.

- Solid grasp of DRY coding patterns, scope management, and SOLID design principles.

- Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
