Job Description
Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, seeks an Area Manager to join its Downstream Division to lead the Sales and Service teams in the respective geographic area. You will be responsible for revenue and profit growth of programs and services in targeted accounts.
What You Will Do:
- Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure Goal Zero and 100% compliance with Company compliance goals.
- Make Safety observations a culture and drive chemical safety focus.
- Improve transport safety by focusing on high-risk behaviors and coaching.
- Drive compliance and safety training completion for every team member.
- Strengthen internal communication and awareness.
- Team:
- Manage a team of sales and service professionals.
- Monitor their performance and tweak the strategies to achieve targets.
- Coach and train them in taking increased responsibility and accountability.
- Build and lead a strong team and groom its members for future roles.
- Provide the right training to the sales team by acting as a training sales manager.
- Draw and drive performance and development plans for the team.
- Execute strong team leadership by planning and leading.
- Support hiring, strengthen talent acquisition and contain attrition.
- Financial:
- Win new business.
- Drive Digital business for both Digital Hardware and Digital Services.
- Lead Total Value Delivery to customers.
- Grow Sales for prescribed area.
- Improve Gross Margins and Operational Income.
- Strategize to sell Innovation solutions.
- Obtain price increases.
- Ensure prompt payment collection.
- Business:
- Develop business relationships with clients to discover needs and opportunities.
- Work closely and collaboratively with support functions to prepare and recommend solutions based on value.
- Generate and execute sales plans to close new opportunities within existing and new customer base.
- Foster a strong relationship with existing and potential clients and resolve any customer queries that come by.
- Plan customer visits and accelerate growth in strategic big bets.
- Order intake planning and implementation of the same to achieve the target.
- Plan and ease material inventory and resource allocation by correct demand forecasting.
- Keep management informed through regular activity reports and communications.
- Deliver exceptional service to clients ensuring Nalco Water standards for service and value documentation are implemented.
- Obtain customer feedback, act on it to continuously improve.

Territory / Location Information:
- This position would be based out of Mumbai.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Qualities:
- Bachelor s degree in engineering.
- Working knowledge of refineries and petrochemical units.
- Experience in public and private bidding.
- Experience in handling Indian private and public refineries and petrochemicals.
- Proven experience working as a Team Lead or a field Sales Manager.
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- At least five years experience as a team manager.
- Willing to travel more than 50% of the time.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Qualities:
- Master of Business Administration or equivalent.
- Knowledge in Process and Water Chemical treatment industry.
