Automation Engineering lead / Principal Engineer

and **Responsibilities:**

• Ensure adherence to engineering policies, standards, specifications, best practices, and procedures.
• Apply process control and advanced process control techniques, with substantial experience gained in operational settings.
• Manage brownfield projects, design equipment skid packages, and conduct front-end engineering while prioritizing and evaluating technical aspects
• Collaborate effectively as part of a remote team to deliver successful outcomes.
• Engage across teams and functions to implement engineering improvements centrally.
• Demonstrate a solid track record in risk management, procand ess safety management (PHA, HAZOP).
• Possess strong knowledge of governing codes and industry standards (e.g., API, IEC, ISA, ATEX, IEEE, BS) and local laws related to Instrumentation and Control (I&C) engineering, as well as instrumentation and control equipment practices.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, both in the field and in the office.
• Have experience in process or process control engineering within chemical or petrochemical plants.
• Demonstrate proficiency in control system platforms such as Rockwell, Siemens, or Emerson.
• Understand OT cybersecurity and develop plans for regional execution of global cybersecurity initiatives, partnering with Centers of Excellence (CoE) to implement program improvements and support operations for resilient performance.
• Develop control narratives, cause and effect matrices for process development work.
• Read and interpret instrumentation drawings, trip panel drawings, P&IDs, logic diagrams, and PLC/DCS configurations.
• Understand the interface between electrical and instrumentation engineering systems.
• Have knowledge Of Capex and OpEx cost estimation.
• Translate detailed engineering designs from in-house or external consultants into real implementations and installations, monitoring daily progress, addressing issues as they arise, and escalating when necessary.
• Report regularly on project status to all stakeholders, review and approve project/program changes, and manage project risks, ensuring all necessary permits and documentation are in place.

**Qualifications and Skills:**

- Hold a specialized engineering degree in Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Chemical Engineering with a focus on Cybersecurity.

- Possess 6+ years of management experience in automation and process controls with hands-on execution in the chemical or related industries.

- Demonstrate sound knowledge of various PLCs, HMIs, SCADAs, VFDs, sensors, cameras, and robotics.

- Be well-versed in major industrial codes and standards relevant to core engineering, and proficient in engineering tools and methods, including electrical area classification codes of NEC and IEC.

- Show expertise in process control schematic development and techno-commercial assessments.

- Have a strong background in control reliability assessments, calibration, and safety management.

- Be knowledgeable about functional safety assessments and validations complying with IEC standards.

- Record a history of consistently delivering results, even in the face of obstacles and setbacks.

- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in various settings, including one-on-one, small, and large group interactions across diverse styles and position levels.

- Work collaboratively with others to achieve shared objectives while gaining trust and support.

- Effectively exchange information, instructions, and ideas within cross-functional technical groups.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- 5+ years of supervisory experience.

- Background in process controls and advanced controls.

- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
