Principal Engineer - Python

REQUIREMENTS:

• Extensive experience in Python programming with a focus on building integration service components using cloud-based infrastructure.
• Proven expertise in delivering event-driven integrations using AWS services (e.g., Lambda, SQS, ECS, API Gateway, DynamoDB) at a highly scalable and global level.
• Versed in the AWS Well-Architected Framework, emphasizing resiliency, rollback, retry, auto-recovery, and self-healing capabilities for mission-critical systems.
• Strong technical coaching/mentorship skills to guide developers transitioning from legacy integration tools (e.g., PL/SQL, database-centric architectures) to modern cloud-native approaches.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation) for dynamically managing cloud infrastructure components.
• Knowledge of Warehouse Manufacturing Systems (WMS) and the ability to understand integration requirements in such systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with migrating legacy SOA environments to modern event-based architectures like Event Nexus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understand functional requirements thoroughly and analyze the clients needs in the context of the project.
• Envision the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements, and define technologies, patterns, and frameworks to realize it using Python and AWS.
• Determine and implement design methodologies and toolsets.
• Enable application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities.
• Lead and support UAT and production rollouts.
• Create, understand, and validate WBS and estimate effort for a given module/task, and justify it.
• Address issues promptly, respond positively to setbacks and challenges with a mindset of continuous improvement.
• Provide constructive feedback to team members and set clear expectations.
• Assist the team in troubleshooting and resolving complex bugs.
• Conduct POCs to ensure that the suggested design/technologies meet the requirements.
