Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
- The Structural BIM Lead shall be responsible for delivery of contract drawings and associated documentation.
- Produce reinforced concrete and steelwork arrangement drawings which are clear, accurate, cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned safely and effectively.
- Consider environmental issues in all design activities.
- Comply with standard practices and details wherever possible.
- Ensure that previous similar solutions are adapted and utilized wherever possible.
- Immediately report design problems or deficiencies to supervisor and project manager.
- Maintain competitiveness by ensuring drawings are produced within the time durations indicated
- Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department
- Coordinate drawing production with all other project disciplines both internal and external to STANTEC.
- Ensure drawing review procedures are followed.
- Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
BIM Responsibilities:
- Ensure BIM processes streamline project workflows, reduce errors, and enhance collaboration.
- Monitor the accuracy of BIM models, minimizing discrepancies between design and construction.
- Promote BIM adoption across teams and projects.
- Regularly assess model quality, adherence to standards, and clash detection.
- Track on-time delivery of BIM deliverables (e.g., clash-free models, construction documents).
- Facilitate BIM training for team members.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders on BIM implementation.
- Lead successful coordination among multidisciplinary teams, Across BLs and within Buildings/Water/Infra BL.
- Encourage exploration of new BIM tools and techniques.
- Identify and address potential risks related to BIM implementation.

Person Specifications:
- Diploma/ bachelor s in civil engineering.
- Experience of USA, BS, ANZ, Eurocode detailing practices
- Minimum experience of 15+ years in reinforced concrete and steelwork detailing in Water, Infra, Buildings projects
- Understand the principles of engineering drawing conception and development
- Understand the company s drawing and design development procedures.
- Competent 3d modelling
- Ability to effectively operate AutoCAD and Revit. MicroStation is a plus
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to rationalize drawings
- Knowledge of the general drawing requirements of a construction team
- Ability to communicate technical proposals clearly and to understand direction by others.
