Senior Devops Engineer

Senior DevOps Engineer **Position Overview:** We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the hands-on management and automation of our AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes environments. This role requires extensive experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and a range of DevOps tools, along with a strong focus on automation and infrastructure as code. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Automated Provisioning of AWS Infrastructure:** - Utilize Terraform/Pulumi or AWS CDK and Python for automated provisioning. - Manage AWS Networking, Security, Cost Optimization, EC2, RDS, EKS, and ECS services. 2. **CI/CD Pipeline Management:** - Collaborate with developers and testers to set up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. - Automate end-to-end testing to enhance productivity. 3. **EKS Cluster Management:** - Manage EKS clusters, including node management and add-ons. - Implement AWS Security measures (IAM), GitOps (Argo CD), and Kubernetes policies (RBAC, Cert Manager, Karpenter). 4. **Containerization:** - Create Dockerfiles and support development using Google Distroless Images. 5. **Observability:** - Implement and manage observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager, CloudWatch, and GuardDuty for infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, and logging. 6. **Legacy Infrastructure Management:** - Manage EC2 instances and semi-automated deployment processes. - Utilize AWS CodeBuild and AWS CodePipeline for deployment. 7. **Instance Management:** - Upgrade or patch EC2 instances with the latest security fixes using SSM and Load Balancer. 8. **Cost Optimization:** - Identify and implement cost optimization strategies across the AWS infrastructure. 9. **Security:** - Conduct security scans and upgrades using open-source security tools like ScoutSuite and others from the my-arsenal-of-aws-security-tools repository. 10. **Consultation:** - Provide consulting services to the development team on AWS infrastructure architecture as part of solution and technical design. 11. **Reporting:** - Generate reports to understand infrastructure footprint, cost optimization, security, and architecture. 12. **Team Collaboration:** - Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new applications and updates. 13. **Automation:** - Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability. 14. **Continuous Improvement:** - Continuously seek and implement new ways to improve architecture and processes. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** - Proficiency in Terraform or Pulumi/AWS CDK and Python for infrastructure automation. - Strong knowledge of AWS services including Networking, Security, EC2, RDS, EKS, and ECS. - Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline management. - Expertise in managing EKS clusters, AWS Security, GitOps (Argo CD), and Kubernetes policies. - Familiarity with Docker, Google Distroless Images, and containerization best practices. - Proficiency in observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, AlertManager, CloudWatch, and GuardDuty. - Experience managing EC2 instances and semi-automated deployment processes. - Knowledge of AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodePipeline, and SSM. - Strong understanding of cost optimization strategies on AWS. - Experience with open-source security tools and conducting security scans. - Excellent automation skills with a focus on infrastructure as code. - Proven ability to collaborate effectively with development and operations teams. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Commitment to continuous improvement and skills development. **Preferred Skills:** - AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification. - Experience with additional AWS services and tools. - Knowledge of advanced security practices and tools.
