Head - Global Portfolio Management/Formulations
Justification:
The role of the Head - Global Portfolio Management for both Formulations business is critical to driving strategic growth, enhancing portfolio value, and ensuring long-term sustainability in the highly competitive pharmaceutical industry. This position is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the portfolio, optimizing product offerings, and leading cross functional efforts to ensure business segments align with the company's global objectives. The incumbent will play a key role in managing and developing a diverse portfolio across global markets, driving innovation, and ensuring profitability and operational excellence.
Academic Background and Experience:
- Education: Master's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience: 18+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong background in Formulations. Proven leadership in global portfolio management, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Key Skills: Portfolio strategy formulation, optimization, product lifecycle management, market access strategies, financial acumen, regulatory and compliance expertise, team leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the global portfolio strategy for both Formulations and API businesses, aligning with the company's overarching business objectives and growth plans.
- Portfolio Optimization: Drive strategic decisions on product portfolio management by assessing market trends, competitive landscapes, and business needs. Ensure balanced investments in high-priority products and therapeutic areas.
- Growth Strategy: Identify and capitalize on market expansion opportunities, product innovation, and lifecycle management to strengthen global market positioning and increase revenue streams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Lead and collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Marketing teams to successfully bring products to market, ensuring alignment with global and regional strategies.
- Financial Strategy: Manage the P&L for the portfolio, define and track key financial goals, and implement cost-control initiatives while ensuring profitability and sustainable growth across both Formulations and API segments.
- Risk Management: Monitor risks associated with product development, market entry, and regulatory compliance, and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard portfolio success.
- Stakeholder Management: Lead interactions with senior leadership, key stakeholders, global partners, and external regulatory bodies to align portfolio strategies with market needs and regulatory requirements.
- Innovation and Industry Leadership: Stay at the forefront of pharmaceutical industry trends, ensuring the company's portfolio remains competitive, innovative, and in line with evolving market demands.

- Execution of the global portfolio strategy and achievement of long-term business objectives.
