Associate Director, SAM Technical Lead

Role Overview The SAM Technical Analyst will be part of a center-led Software Asset Management Service to ensure compliant, cost effective and efficient utilization of software in partnerships with Software Owners across our company. The position will support SAM Tool administration including maintenance and reporting to include inventory, ad hoc audits, and periodic audits to ensure compliance. Our company is driving a multi-year IT transformation that requires an operationally and technically focused SAM Service to support the effective utilization of third-party software as underpinning technologies in support of our broader overall IT initiatives of moving to the cloud, data and analytics and an agile product team centric operating mode as key elements of the IT change. In addition, this role is expected to work as an advocate and expand the utilization of SAM services and data as a foundational element within IT to deliver breakthrough results, driving overall innovation and automation. This position operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities through the efficient management of software products. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that enables the commercialization of our medicines, vaccines, and Animal Health products.

What will you do in this role

• Contribute to planning and executing of risk-based audit of existing and planned processes, products, systems and services. Identify and document risks in detail.
• Implement stakeholder engagement/communications plan. Collect and use feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
• Act as a support to the ITAM Tool lead while providing other IT stakeholders data and insights.
• Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the ITAM tool (e.g., tool architecture, user guides).
• Be responsible for generating ad hoc reports, queries from ITAM Tool.
• Perform regular audits to identify and remediate IT asset and software license compliance issues.
• Generate reports and dashboards to track IT asset and software usage and compliance.
• Coordinate with various functions to understand software requirement.
• Support the establishment and implementation of function-level project plans to reach the ITAM state defined.
• Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the project manager.

What should you have

• Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business or any Technology stream.
• 11+ years of experience in ITAM tools or IT System Management Experience
• Familiarity with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel, R, and MATLAB for visualizing data.
• Proficiency in languages like Java, Python, SQL, and C# is crucial for data manipulation and analysis
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify patterns.
• Ability to work individually, as well as in a team and collaborate with others.
