Senior Power BI Data Modeler

EDWH data modeling team is responsible for building high quality data models for MSCI Sales, Finance and Marketing teams. These models are used by internal stakeholders to build dashboard for data driven decision making. We are looking for a Senior Power BI Data Modeler who can help us building new BI models and enhancing existing models.

Gather business requirements and define technical design
Define, implement, and optimize Data Modeling layer for Power BI Reports using SQL and Power BI
Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, enterprise data warehouse and Azure Data Lake.
Performance tuning of Power BI data model using aggregation configuration and incremental refresh

7+ years of experience in Power BI, Azure Sql, Azure Synapse or Azure Databricks.
7+ years of strong hands-on Power BI experience in creating large data models. Should be well versed with drill down and drill through techniques.
Ability to understand complex data schemas and create optimized BI data models for reporting needs is a must.
Hands-on experience in architecting Power BI Premium large Data-sets is required (leveraging XMLA end-points and Power-BI APIs).
Able to implement row level security (RLS) on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
Experience in data extraction, data modelling, data warehousing and performance optimization.
Experience in managing Azure Power BI dedicated capacity and good understanding of management APIs required.
Writing efficient and performant DAX queries is required.
Experience of working with Microsoft Fabric for Direct Lake and Data Activator is a plus

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
Strong work ethic and motivation to constantly improve the product.
Clear and effective communication and writing skills.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving aptitude.
Knowledge of Marketing and financial data is a plus.
