Senior Linux Engineer - Cloud Operations (13-16 yrs)

Role : Cloud Operations Engineer / Linux Engineer.

Must have : 13+ Years exp | Investment banking / Banking Experience.

We are seeking a strong, Principal Cloud Operations Engineer to design, develop, deploy and maintain solutions and best practices for all our internal and cloud-based solutions.

Job Description :

The Cloud Operations Engineer provides development and implementation of infrastructure services, facilitates security processes, supports IT governance, and promotes best practices.

Major Responsibilities :

- Evaluate and respond to alerts and events from the tools, including tuning of tool configuration to minimize false positives, development of event response documentation and processes for Operations Center response to follow for event actions, and escalating to appropriate teams for event response.

- Work with the Cloud Operations teams in the definition and implementation of standards and best practices.

- Develop and maintain documentation and diagrams for system environments, and cloud operations.

- Collaborate with Product Managers, Platform Leads, and Information Technology teams, to design and implement cloud solutions.

- Work within a DevOps model so that release management is automated and elastic across all cloud platforms.

- Participate on automation of incident prioritization, false positives identification, correlation, vulnerability remediation.

- Provide second level support to Technical Support Desk.

- Automate testing and auditing to prevent regressions and catch issues before they reach production.

- Acts as the senior technical representative for Enterprise Operations while engaging with other senior technical leaders throughout organization in design and implementation of cloud and cloud/hybrid based implementations and solutions.

- Set technical standards for Cloud infrastructure, containers, security baselines, policies and procedures.

- Develop and implement Operations controls for various cloud infrastructure providers (AWS, Azure).

Experience/Skills Required :

- Experience with cloud services, know the pitfalls and potential problems with traditional cloud deployments.

- Strong understanding of Linux/UNIX (10+ years' experience).

- Strong understanding of Windows (10+ years' experience).

- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, and security best practices.

- Experience with systems performance tools.

- Fluent in at least one general-purpose language (at least one of: Python, Perl, Ruby).

- Understanding of virtualization and IaaS platforms and deployments.

- Experience working with highly available, large-scale deployments.

- Experience with automation tools (at least one of: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt).

- Experience with large-scale storage systems and distributed file systems.

- Distributed source control (Git).

Experience/Skills Preferred :

- Experience with PowerBI, Azure cloud services.

- Experience with Redshift, AWS cloud services.

- Experience managing and supporting TCP/IP networking and security.

- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in a high-availability environment.

- Experience with third party web services and content distribution networks.

- Produce Method of Procedures that demonstrate understanding of changes proposed and how the change will be executed with minimal service impact.

- The person needs to have a solid Linux background in RHEL/CentOS/Rocky linux.
